Which S-Max models have AdBlue?

The MK2 Ford S-Max (2015 onwards) carries AdBlue on the 2.0 EcoBlue 190ps diesel in Euro 6d spec, which typically means 2019 or later. The lower-output EcoBlue variants – 120ps and 150ps – do not have AdBlue, so not every S-Max diesel is affected.

The S-Max is a seven-seat MPV that shares its platform and drivetrain with the Galaxy. On the 190ps version, the AdBlue filler sits in the engine bay under a blue cap. If your S-Max is the 190ps EcoBlue from 2019 or later, it almost certainly has AdBlue. Not sure? Call before you book and we will confirm.

What the delete involves

The delete is done through the OBD port – no parts are removed from the vehicle. We update the ECU to disable the AdBlue system entirely. The warning lights go off, the countdown disappears, and there is no risk of the car locking out or going into limp mode over AdBlue.

Most Ford S-Max deletes take 60 to 90 minutes. We run a free diagnostic first so you know exactly what we are dealing with before any work starts.

Mobile service across the North West

We cover Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, West Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. We come to your home, driveway, car park or workplace – wherever the car is.

The price is £330 all in. That includes the free diagnostic, the software delete and everything else. No hidden charges, no garage drop-off, no waiting around.

We are insured to £2 million.

FAQs

Does my Ford S-Max have AdBlue?
Only the 2.0 EcoBlue 190ps in Euro 6d spec has AdBlue. If you have the 120ps or 150ps EcoBlue, your S-Max does not have AdBlue. The easiest check is the blue cap in the engine bay – or just call us and we can confirm from your registration.
Which S-Max years have AdBlue?
The 190ps EcoBlue in Euro 6d spec was introduced from around 2019. If your S-Max is 2019 or later and has the 190ps engine, it will have AdBlue. Earlier EcoBlue models from 2015 to 2018 are typically Euro 6b or 6c and do not use AdBlue.
Is Ford S-Max AdBlue delete permanent?
Yes. The delete is a software change to the ECU. Once done, the AdBlue system is permanently disabled and the vehicle no longer requires AdBlue fluid. It does not revert after a service or battery change.
How much does S-Max AdBlue delete cost?
Ford S-Max AdBlue delete is £330. This is a fixed price that covers the diagnostic and the full software delete. We come to you anywhere within our coverage area at no extra charge. For off-road and export use only.
