Which BMW models have AdBlue?

BMW fitted AdBlue to most diesel models from around 2018 onwards. Affected models include the 3 Series (G20), 5 Series (G30), 7 Series (G11/G12), X3 (G01), X5 (G05), X6 (G06) and X7 (G07), along with most other BMW diesels running B47 and B57 engines. If your BMW has a blue AdBlue filler cap near the fuel filler or inside the boot, the system is fitted. Not sure whether yours is affected? Call us and we will confirm your specific variant before you book.

What the delete involves

The AdBlue delete is a software-only process carried out through the OBD port. No parts are removed from the vehicle. The ECU is updated to remove the AdBlue requirement completely. All warning lights and fault codes are cleared, the refill reminders are gone, and the car will not enter limp mode or count down to a lockout. Most BMW deletes are completed in 60 to 90 minutes at your location. We carry out a free diagnostic check on arrival before any work begins.

FAQs

Which BMW models need AdBlue?
Most BMW diesels built from around 2018 onwards. Key models include the 3 Series (G20), 5 Series (G30), 7 Series (G11/G12), X3, X5, X6 and X7. If your BMW has a blue cap near the fuel filler or inside the boot, it has the system. If you are not sure, give us a call and we will check your registration before you commit to anything.
Will deleting AdBlue affect my BMW's warranty?
If your BMW is still under a manufacturer warranty, deletion will likely void the warranty for emissions-related repairs. We recommend checking before booking if that applies to you. Most vehicles we work on are outside the manufacturer warranty period and the owner simply wants to stop the countdown and get the car running normally again.
Is AdBlue delete permanent on BMW?
Yes. The software update removes the AdBlue requirement from the ECU permanently. The car will not display AdBlue warnings, ask for a refill, or generate fault codes relating to the SCR system. There is no reset or timeout after which it returns.
How much does BMW AdBlue delete cost?
£330 all in. There are no call-out fees, no parts charges and no hidden costs. The price covers the free diagnostic on arrival, the software update and clearing all fault codes related to AdBlue. We confirm everything before any work starts. For off-road and export use only.
