Which Land Rover models have AdBlue

Land Rover fitted AdBlue (DEF/SCR) systems to most diesel models from around 2017 onwards. Affected models include the Discovery (5th generation, L462), Discovery Sport (L550), Defender (L663, 2020 onwards), and Freelander variants with the 2.0 SD4 and 3.0 SDV6 Ingenium engines. The AdBlue filler cap sits inside the fuel flap alongside the diesel cap on most of these vehicles. If your Land Rover is showing an AdBlue warning light or a mile countdown, get in touch and we will confirm whether your exact model and year is covered before you book.

What the delete involves

We carry out the delete through the OBD port – no parts removed, no stripping down. The ECU is updated to disable the AdBlue requirement entirely. Warning lights are cleared, the countdown timer is gone, and there is no risk of the vehicle going into lockout. Most Land Rover deletes are completed in 60 to 90 minutes at your location. We run a free diagnostic on arrival before any work begins, so you know exactly what you are getting.

Mobile service across the North West

We cover Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, West Yorkshire, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire. Home, driveway, car park, or workplace – wherever the vehicle is sitting is fine. The price is £330 all in, with no call-out charge. We are insured to £2 million, and same-day or next-day availability is often possible.

Frequently asked questions

Which Land Rover models need AdBlue?
Most Land Rover and Range Rover diesels built from 2017 onwards use AdBlue. That includes the Discovery L462, Discovery Sport L550, Defender L663, and models fitted with the Ingenium 2.0 SD4 and 3.0 SDV6 engines. Older models with the 3.0 TDV6 engine typically do not have an SCR system. If you are unsure, call us with your registration and we will check.
Is Land Rover AdBlue delete permanent?
Yes. Once the ECU has been updated the vehicle no longer requires AdBlue fluid to run. The warning lights will not return and there is no countdown to restart. The change is not reversed by a dealer service reset.
Does AdBlue delete affect Land Rover performance?
No. The delete targets only the SCR and AdBlue injection system. Engine output, fuel economy, and gearbox behaviour are unchanged. The vehicle runs exactly as it did before.
How much does Land Rover AdBlue delete cost?
£330, all in. That covers the free diagnostic on arrival, the ECU update via OBD, and all fault code clearing. No hidden charges. For off-road and export use only.
