Which Transit models have AdBlue

The MK8 Ford Transit (2013 onwards) has AdBlue on higher-output 2.0 EcoBlue variants. Specifically, the Transit with the 2.0 EcoBlue 130ps and above in Euro 6d compliance – typically 2019 onwards – has AdBlue. This covers L2, L3 and L4 body styles, panel vans, minibuses and chassis cab variants with 130ps and 170ps engines. The AdBlue filler is usually under a blue cap in the engine bay. Pre-2019 Transit 2.0 EcoBlue may not have AdBlue. If you are unsure of your year or engine variant, call us and we will confirm before you book.

What the delete involves

We connect to the OBD port and update the ECU with a software delete. No parts are removed. Once done, the AdBlue system is permanently disabled: warning lights go off, the countdown timer is gone, and there is no risk of lockout. Many Transit owners come to us when the countdown has already started, to keep their van working while they make decisions. Does my Ford Transit have AdBlue?
The 2.0 EcoBlue 130ps and 170ps variants from around 2019 onwards typically have AdBlue. Earlier MK8 Transits and lower-output engines may not. If you are unsure, call us on 0161 694 7331. We will ask for your year and engine spec and confirm on the spot, at no cost.
Can the Transit lock out over AdBlue?
Yes. Ford Transits with AdBlue will count down the remaining miles and, if the tank runs dry or a fault is not cleared, the van will eventually refuse to start. If you are approaching that point, contact us as soon as possible. We can usually get to you the same day or next day.
Is Transit AdBlue delete permanent?
Yes. The delete is a permanent ECU update. There is no reversion, no warning light return, and no ongoing AdBlue top-ups required. The system is off.
How much does Transit AdBlue delete cost?
