Which 5 Series models have AdBlue?

The G30 5 Series (2017 onwards) with a diesel engine has AdBlue. This covers the 520d, 525d, 530d, and 540d. The earlier F10 5 Series (2010 to 2017) does not have AdBlue in most UK variants.

G30 diesels run BMW's B47 and B57 engines with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system. The blue AdBlue filler cap is usually located behind the fuel flap.

If your 5 Series is showing an AdBlue warning light or a countdown, it has the system fitted. Not sure about your exact model year? Call us and we will confirm before booking.

What the delete involves

We connect to the OBD port and update the ECU via software. No parts are removed. The AdBlue system is disabled at the software level.

After the delete:

  • All AdBlue warning lights are cleared
  • The countdown timer is gone
  • No more fault codes related to AdBlue
  • The car runs as normal

Most BMW 5 Series deletes are completed in 60 to 90 minutes at your location. You do not need to go anywhere.

FAQs

Does my BMW 5 Series have AdBlue?
If your 5 Series is a G30 diesel (2017 onwards), yes. Models affected include the 520d, 525d, 530d, and 540d. The F10 (2010 to 2017) generally does not have AdBlue in UK spec. If you are unsure, call us with your registration and we will check for you.
Is the BMW 5 Series AdBlue delete permanent?
Yes. The ECU is updated so the system no longer runs. There are no warning lights, no countdown, and no AdBlue refill required. The change does not revert after a service or software update from BMW.
Does AdBlue delete affect BMW 5 Series performance?
No. The AdBlue system is emissions-related, not performance-related. Removing it does not change power output, fuel economy, or how the car drives.
How much does it cost?
£330 all in, including the free diagnostic. We do not charge for the call-out. If we arrive and your vehicle is not suitable for any reason, you pay nothing. For off-road and export use only. AdBlue delete is not permitted for use on UK public roads.
