Which GLS models have AdBlue?
The X167 GLS (2019 onwards) has AdBlue fitted across all diesel variants. This covers the GLS 350d and GLS 400d, both using the OM656 3.0-litre inline-six diesel. The earlier X166 GLS (2012 to 2019, previously sold as the GL) did not have AdBlue in most UK variants, using a different BlueTEC system without selective catalytic reduction. On the X167, the blue DEF filler cap sits inside the fuel flap. Any X167 GLS diesel will have AdBlue fitted from new. Call us to confirm your chassis before booking.
What the delete involves
We connect to your GLS via the OBD port and update the ECU software to disable the AdBlue system permanently. No parts are removed from the vehicle. Once the job is done, all AdBlue warning lights clear, the countdown timer disappears and the risk of engine lockout is gone. The GLS will no longer prompt you to top up fluid or generate fault codes related to the AdBlue system. Most GLS deletes are completed in 60 to 90 minutes at your location.
