Which VW models have AdBlue?

Volkswagen fitted AdBlue systems to diesel models from around 2016 onwards. Affected vehicles include the Transporter (T6 and T6.1), Crafter (second generation, SY/SZ chassis), Passat (B8 TDI), Touareg (third generation), Caddy (fourth generation, 2.0 TDI) and Amarok (3.0 TDI V6). Most use the 2.0 TDI or 3.0 TDI engine paired with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system. The AdBlue filler cap is typically located in the engine bay or beside the fuel filler, depending on the model and year. Not sure whether your VW is affected? Call us and we will confirm your variant before you book.

What the delete involves

The VW AdBlue delete is carried out through the OBD diagnostic port. No parts are removed from the vehicle. We update the ECU software to permanently switch off the AdBlue requirement, clear all related warning lights and fault codes, and remove any countdown timer that could lead to a start lockout. Once the work is complete, the vehicle no longer requires AdBlue fluid and will not enter limp mode. The rest of the vehicle is untouched and the change is permanent. Most Volkswagen deletes are finished in 60 to 90 minutes on site.

We run a free diagnostic before any work starts and we are insured to £2 million.

Is VW AdBlue delete permanent?
Yes. The delete is a software change written directly to the ECU. Once the job is done, the AdBlue requirement is removed for good. There are no countdowns, no warning lights and no need to ever top up AdBlue fluid again.
Does deleting AdBlue affect my VW?
The vehicle runs as normal. All other engine functions remain unchanged. Warning lights linked to the AdBlue system are cleared and will not return. Performance, fuel economy and drivability are not affected by the delete.
How much does VW AdBlue delete cost?
VW AdBlue delete is £330. That covers the full software delete, fault code clearance and a free pre-work diagnostic. No hidden charges and no call-out fee. We travel to your location at no extra cost. For off-road and export use only. AdBlue delete is not intended for vehicles used on public roads.
